"off day"

Yesterday was an off day for us, so we got to explore a bit and see what else was going on beyond the daily loop of the Olympic Village, Seefeld, and Congress (the place where we eat lunch and dinner). In the morning, Paddy, Emilee (my roommate, the only girl ski jumper here from the US) and I walked around the "old city". There were lots of cool old buildings, and it reminded me a lot of the old city in Tallinn, Estonia. After lunch, Paddy and I headed up to Patscherkofel, the alpine/luge/bobsled venue. We got to watch the boy alpiner from the US do his slalom leg of their super-combined race, and when he finished, he was in first! He didn't end up winning, but it was fun to see him on top of the leader board!
here are some pictures from our trip to town

this guy was in the olympic spirit!

Today we headed up to Seefeld for a wake up ski, and tomorrow we're racing our first race! Paddy's seeded 7th of 49, and I'm seeded 9th of 40. I'm really excited to get to race!
