Heather Mooney: First Race!

Today was our first race!! I was really nervous going into it, having never raced any of these girls before, but once I actually started it was pretty fun! There were tons of people out cheering us on, and with a bit of the loop around the stadium, it was really cool to hear all the fanfare! Although I didn't feel my best, and struggled a bit to kick up some of the bigger hills, I was happy that I went really hard! One of the norwegian girls that ended up fourth passed me coming through the lap, so it was good to see what her fast skiing looks like. There are some really fast girls over here! I ended up 13th, and Paddy finished 16th, a solid day. I'm really excited for the skate sprint on Thursday now that we have one race done!
