World Juniors Racing!

Its been a whirlwind of racing with Juniors and U23s alternating each day. Its been really cool that all the races have been live on TV, so even the days when we're not racing we can watch our teammates from the hotel! We had the opening ceremonies on Wednesday night, we all lined up with our flags and walked through the stadium like they do in the olympics, only better because the entire ceremony lasted 45 minutes!! After a couple speeches, lighting of the torch, the Estonian national anthem, a couple songs, some fireworks, we were headed back to the hotel to get rested for our races. The highlight of the first day of racing was that Jessie Diggins, USA, finished 7th in the Junior race! The next day, Noah Hoffman and Tad Elliot finished 9th and 19th in the U23 race! Then we had the junior race, which wasn't quite as good, Erik Bjornsen qualified 11th for the heats, but unfortunately didn't make it through to the semi finals...I qualified 31st, one place and .29 seconds out of the heats....it was tough to be that close, but I had a good race, so it was a good learning experience! And since I didn't get to ski in the heats, I got to cheer, which was really fun! Izzy and I even made the TV when we were standing on the course waving my big american flag! Also, thanks to my cheering squad (Mom and Grammy) who've been here supporting team USA! Today in the U23 sprint three of the girls and one of the boys made it through to the heats (top 30)! Tomorrow is the junior pursuit, which should be a really fun race!! I'm very excited! Hopefully with one World Juniors race under my belt I'll be able to ski even better!
I have lots of pictures, but the internet is pretty slow, so I'll try to put them up once it gets faster.
